Cloaksmith — Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains when you can get a refund for Cloaksmith ("the App"). It sits alongside the End User Licence Agreement and Privacy Policy (Settings → Legal).

Try before you buy

Cloaksmith offers a free trial so you can evaluate it on your own documents before paying: you can redact up to five documents free, with no account and no card required. The trial is the intended way to check the App works for you. Once you buy a licence key, you have committed to the purchase, subject to the rights below.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our software comes with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. Among other things, the App must be of acceptable quality and match its description.

If the App has a major failure — for example, it does not do what we said it does, or is unfit for its ordinary purpose and cannot easily be fixed — you are entitled to a refund (or, where you choose, a replacement). You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

If the App has a minor failure that we can fix, we will fix it within a reasonable time. If we cannot or do not, you may then seek a refund.

To claim, contact us at hello@cloaksmith.app with your purchase details and a description of the problem. We may ask for information to reproduce the issue.

Change-of-mind refunds

Because the free trial lets you fully evaluate the App before paying, we are not obliged to give a refund simply because you change your mind. As a goodwill gesture, however, we will refund a purchase within 30 days of the purchase date if you have not used the App beyond the trial, no reason required — just email us. This is in addition to, and does not limit, your Australian Consumer Law rights above.

How refunds are processed

Purchases are handled by our payment processor, Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through that processor. It may take several business days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Cancellation

Cloaksmith is a one-time purchase. There is no recurring subscription to cancel; you keep the version you bought under the terms of your licence.

Failed or unauthorised charges

If you believe you were charged in error or without authorisation, contact us at hello@cloaksmith.app and we will investigate and, where appropriate, refund the charge.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update it and its effective date. Changes do not affect the rights attached to a purchase you already made.
